Leftist Media Now Claim The Word “Looting” Is Racist

The leftist media, i.e. the mainstream media, have been known to use their ill-gotten power to shape public perception for the utmost evil. From normalizing homosexual couples on television in order to dramatically change public opinion on same-sex marriage to the more recent example of their coverage of the Rittenhouse trial, the media do not appear to be friends of honest reporting. More recently, in order to salvage their ratings, some news and academic outlets have taken yet another step towards clown world lunacy.

According to Summit News, the term “looting” used by many to describe the uptick in property crimes in many parts of the country is apparently a racist term. Indeed, rather than actually taking steps to minimize crime, which appears to be more logic and not-so-common sense than the media can handle, the leftists that run the media and academia now seem to be trying to distract the public from the actual crimes by getting their knickers in a twist about petty terminology.

Apparently, California law defines “looting” as theft that happens under specific and extraordinary circumstances such as in the aftermath of natural or man-made disasters. Indeed, some of these ‘reporters’ and ‘academics’ cite the use of the ‘looting’ to describe the crime wave in largely-Black New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina as evidence that it is meant as a racially derogatory term to high-crime minorities under duress. These supposed thought leaders are apparently unaware that the Japanese did not have this problem in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami despite nearly triple the cost in damages and over ten times the fatalities.

Lorenzo Boyd, PhD, Professor of Criminal Justice & Community Policing at the University of New Haven, claimed that “Looting is a term that we typically use when people of color or urban dwellers are doing something. We tend not to use that term for other people when they do the exact same thing”, apparently once again unaware that urban dwellers of the world’s largest city also enjoy the safest streets in the world.

“These types of massive organized smash-and-grabs were happening before the Rittenhouse situation happened,” Boyd continued, adding “It’s a false equivalency. It’s people trying to politicize crime.” in a classic example of the pot calling the kettle black, especially given the massive difference in coverage the media has provided for the Rittenhouse trial and the ongoing Maxwell trial prior to the media being barred.
