After the Chicago Women’s March and Linda Sarsour celebrated the birthday of wanted cop-killer Assata Shakur on Twitter, CNN’s Jake Tapper called them out on their “ugly sentiments” — and was rapidly branded as being “alt-right” by the Muslim activist.

Tapper tweeted looking for progressives who would condemn their celebration of Shakur, but was met with angry leftists demanding that he was siding with the right for condemning the murderer.

Soon, Sarsour herself joined in, accusing the CNN host of “joining the ranks of the alt-right” to attack her.

Sarsour, true to form, also began using her religion as a shield and implying that Tapper is “Islamophobic” for questioning her — despite the issue of Shakur having nothing to do with her ideology.

Tapper responded, referencing her comments about author and activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali, whom Sarsour has previously stated does not deserve to have a vagina for her questioning of the Islamic faith. Ali is a victim of female genital mutilation.

Shakur was convicted for the murder of New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster in 1977. She escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba where she was granted political asylum in 1984.

In 2013, she became the first woman to ever be listed on the FBI’s most wanted list. She is also listed as a domestic terrorist.

In June, President Donald Trump cancelled former President Obama’s Cuba policy, he has stated that he will not consider a new deal until release political prisoners and return fugitives that they are harboring. He specifically called for Cuba to return Shakur to the United States to face justice.

Shakur is frequently quoted and celebrated at Black Lives Matter events.
