Rashida Tlaib Attempts to Barge Into County Jail Against Protocol to Advocate for Illegal Immigrants

Socialist Muslim Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) recently traveled to a Calhoun County jail where she demanded entry against protocol so she could talk to illegal immigrants and share their plight with Americans.

“My team and I drove to Calhoun County to make an unannounced visit to see the conditions of the facility where they are detaining immigrants. I was denied entry,” she said in a Facebook video.

Calhoun County Sheriff Matt Saxton was unimpressed by Tlaib’s stunt, and claimed he would have given her a tour himself if he was notified ahead of time.

Saxton said: “if they want a tour of a contracted facility they have to set it up 48 hours in advance. My lieutenant followed procedures, and we just don’t let a group walk into our facility. If she had called me and said, ‘I would like a tour of your facility,’ I would have set it up.”

The Calhoun County jail has an agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to house illegal immigrants at their facility. Approximately 191 ICE detainees are housed there, and Saxton says no complaints about mistreatment have been filed by any of the illegals.

“I have had no communication with her,” he said. “With a little communication, we could have made sure that security issues were managed and given her a tour. It’s a jail and we have security measures.”

Without providing any real evidence, Tlaib still took to her Twitter account to claim that illegal immigrants were being mistreated at the facility. She claims to have talked to several illegals despite being shut out of the facility.

Tlaib has made vicious comments about ICE frequently, putting federal enforcement in harms way with her violent rhetoric, levying her latest attacks against them earlier this week.

The Palestinian-American Congresswoman is currently under fire for refusing a trip to Israel to see her grandmother due to her disdain for the Jewish state.
