Creepy Porn Lawyer Michael Avenatti Receives New Federal Fraud Charge in Nike Extortion Case

Attorney Michael Avenatti went from being a man touted by many liberals as the Trump slayer to an alleged criminal facing years in prison for his reported involvement in a corporate extortion case.

The Department of Justice announced on Wednesday that Avenatti is being hit with a new wire fraud charge while two counts of conspiracy are being dropped against the loudmouth attorney who has become a national punch line after refusing to deliver on his boasts to take down the President.

Avenatti is painting this as good news, maintaining his innocence against the charges.

Avenatti is accused of attempting to extort corporate sports apparel giant Nike out of up to $25 million. According to the allegations, he threatened to expose their untoward dealings in college athletics if he was not paid the money.

He is also accused of other fraud charges in Los Angeles federal court, and another case in New York regarding his former client Stormy Daniels who he allegedly defrauded out of income from her book deal.

Avenatti became a favorite of the fake news because of his shameless willingness to tout explosive and baseless claims about President Donald Trump. He was even floated as a possible 2020 presidential candidate by the desperate mainstream media before his fall from grace:

A CNN conspiracy theorist and alleged “news” anchor touted now-indicted attorney Michael Avenatti as a serious presidential contender for 2020 just months ago.

“I don’t know if it’s a good thing that star power and TV savvy is required for the job [of president], but I think it is,” Brian Stelter said.

Stelter hosts a CNN show unironically named “Reliable Sources,” which was responsible for spreading the RussiaGate conspiracy theory for nearly two years.

“And by the way, I think President Obama also had a lot of TV star power, and that helped him pre-Trump. But Trump is more evidence of this, and looking ahead to 2020, one reason I’m taking you seriously a contender is because of your presence on cable news.”

It’s worth noting that the only reason Avenatti ever had a “presence on cable news” is because he represented a client who was suing Trump, and the Trump-hating cable news invited him on nearly every day for a period of months. That suit eventually failed, as did Avenatti, who decided not to run for president in late 2018 in the midst of allegations of domestic abuse.

Avenatti will be lucky to observe the 2020 presidential election as a free man, as the creepy porn lawyer’s years of slimy behavior are finally coming back to bite him.
