Rep. Thomas Massie Implores Trump to Go Further: ‘Bring All of our Soldiers Home From Syria Tomorrow’

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who consistently checks out as the legislator in Washington D.C. with the most conservative voting record, issued a history lesson about Syria over social media on Friday about how the involvement has been worsened by U.S. intervention in recent years.

Massie posted a Twitter thread on Syria outlining how war in that nation was being ginned up during the Obama administration, and despite widespread support from neoconservative Republicans and Democrats, it was ultimately rejected because the American public had no appetite for the conflict.

The Kentucky lawmaker continued on to explain how the Obama administration ultimately staged a secret war in Syria through the deep state that resulted in Jihadis such as ISIS and Al Qaeda getting their hands on weapons and other equipment.

Massie finished his Twitter thread by urging for all soldiers to be removed by Syria immediately unless members of Congress have the courage to actually go on the record and vote to send troops to the country.

The neoconservatives are particularly mad because of President Trump’s decision to move troops out of Northern Syria. They want American blood spilled to protect the Kurds, a Muslim extremist group that freed hundreds of ISIS militants throughout 2017.

“President Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. forces from northern Syria is having sickening and predictable consequences,” said Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), whose father was the architect of the disastrous Iraq War.

“The Kurds have been a great partner. … Turkey under Erdogan has not been. I’m concerned about what can happen next,” Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) said. “A lot can happen in a hurry and we’ll just have to see what happens when we get back. I wish the president would reconsider.”

“It’s a terrible mistake. We’ll have to think of what options there are. I’m sure the Senate will, potentially, take some vote to disagree with that decision,” Sen. “Little” Marco Rubio (R-FL) said.

“This is worse than what Obama did. When Obama left Iraq, all hell broke loose. And if you think, Mr. President, ISIS is only a threat to Europe, you really don’t understand ISIS,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on Thursday.

However, the Kurds have already made a deal for the Syrian government to protect them, showing that the U.S. presence as world’s policeman is not necessary to stabilize the region:

The Kurdish-led administration in northeastern Syria announced on Sunday that it had struck a deal with the Syrian army in order to combat an intensifying attack by Turkish forces in the region.

Turkey has embarked on major air and land offensives against The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who control a sizeable area of land in Syria’s northeast which runs along the Turkish border. The move comes just days after Trump announced that he would soon be pulling out US troops still stationed in the region.

On Sunday, the Kurdish-led administration announced that it had reached a deal with Syrian President Bashar al Assad, and that Syrian government troops would be deployed in the north in order to fend off the Turkish incursion.

“In order to prevent and confront this aggression, an agreement has been reached with the Syrian government… so that the Syrian army can deploy along the Syrian-Turkish border to assist the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF),” the statement said, according to Al Jazeera.

The statement added that the Syrian deployment would also help “liberate” areas held by Turkish-backed Syrian rebel groups like Afrin, a city which was occupied as a result of the Turkish military operation in 2018.

President Trump is sticking to his guns and refusing to cave to the War Party on this issue. He is putting America first and refusing to place troops in harm’s way to protect Islamic militants in the Middle East.
