Republicans Who are Bad on Guns, Vote for Amnesty AGAIN!

America Last bill H.R. 5038 passed in the House on December 11, 2019 by a 260-165 vote.

Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin pointed out that 34 Republicans decided to vote for this amnesty bill.

She tweeted, “11/Whelp. Here’s the roll call for the 34 GOP #AmericaLast sellouts who joined Dems to pass the Big Ag Amnesty tonight — http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2019/roll6

America First congressman Paul Gosar also commented, “The “Farm Workforce Modernization Act” would legalize every illegal alien farmworker in America by issuing them “certified agricultural worker” permits and eventually, green cards, issued above the annual green card limit. It’s amnesty for 1.5 million illegal aliens.”

The vote breakdown for this bill can be viewed here.

However, there is one lesser-known aspect of this vote that should be noted.

Congressmen Brian Fitzpatrick, Fred Upton, Chris Smith, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Will Hurd not only voted for this bill, but they also have a track record of supporting gun control and another amnesty bill earlier this year. Their overall voting habits demonstrate establishment tendencies.

First up is H.R. 8, the universal gun registration bill, which all five of them voted for back in February. This bill represented the largest expansion of gun control at the federal level since the Brady Act was passed in the early 1990s.

Then, this gang of five RINOs voted for the American Dream and Promise Act on June 4, 2019, which would have protected illegal immigrants from being deported and potentially given millions a permanent pathway citizenship.

These three instances of voting show that there are still Republicans in Congress who cannot be counted on to defend key issues such as gun rights and immigration. Grassroots activists should actively keep records of these elected officials around primary season so that they can run more conservative alternatives against these corrupt incumbents.
