Disney Will Pay For Employees’ Abortion Related Travel Costs Following Supreme Court Ruling

Despite the Supreme Court officially overturning Roe V. Wade and eliminating the “constitutional right” to abortion, Disney has announced that it will be paying for “out-of-state” employees’ abortion-related travel costs.

As Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon explained: “Put another way, the money you spend at Disney will be spent on abortions.”

Friday’s SCOTUS ruling is what sparked Disney’s latest circulated internal memo to employees that pledged financial assistance to those who are forced to travel out of state to obtain “reproductive care.”

“Our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, no matter where they live,” Disney executives said in the memo.

“In fact, we have processes in place so that an employee who may be unable to access care in one location has affordable coverage for receiving similar levels of care in another location,” it continued. “This travel benefit covers medical situations related to cancer treatments, transplants, rare disease treatment and family planning (including pregnancy-related decisions).”

The memo was first reported by CNBC news, and it positions Disney amongst other Hollywood firms that are extending the out-of-state benefit to employees. Netflix, Comcast, Paramount, WME, CAA, and UTA are just a couple of examples.

This breaking news story serves as another milestone for Disney and its double-down efforts when siding with progressive issues. For instance, the company recently declared its opposition to Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill — which has since sparked action from Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Following that controversy, the sunshine state Gov. retaliated by passing legislation that stripped the company of its autonomous powers over its theme parks in and around Orlando.

After that episode, Disney chose to reinstate the gay kiss scene in the kid’s movie, “Lightyear.” Inviting more backlash from conservative parents who deemed the inclusion inappropriate.

The film was eventually banned in 11 countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt. The movie also reportedly bombed at the box office.

As Screen Rant explained, “The general rule of thumb is a movie has to earn double its production budget in order to break even. By that metric, Lightyear needs $400 million globally to recoup its costs.” According to tracking from Box Office Mojo, Lightyear has thus far yielded under $91 million in ticket sales.

In addition to this new memo from Disney, it is apparent that the woke corporation is continuing to double down on its progressive policies and rhetoric. For example, Disney’s next animated film will include gay teen romance.

Jack Posobiec, the host of the Human Events Daily podcast, shared an exclusive interview with Breitbart where he explained that Disney is willing to lose money on woke movies like Lightyear and Strange World to invest “into shifting the culture.” And ultimately “advance leftist politics in American culture and beyond.”

All three examples from today are evidence of that motive from Disney.
