2018 Video of Violent Altercation between Parkland Mass Murderer and Sheriff’s Deputy Released

On Sunday, February 2, 2020, a jailhouse video of the perpetrator of the Parkland, Florida school massacre, Nikolas Cruz, getting into an altercation with a sheriff’s deputy was released.

The 19-year-old man confessed to killing 17 people in cold blood at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day in 2018.

Cruz’s massacre was instrumental in sparking a massive gun control wave across the nation and has put conventional firearms such as the AR-15 as a major target for pro-gun control legislators.

The jailhouse altercation occurred on November 2018, but the video was recently obtained by WSVN.

The video depicts Cruz walking around a common area before starting an argument with a guard and assaulting him.

Investigators claim the fight lasted for only a minute.

According to documents that WSVN was able to obtain, Cruz and the deputy, Sergeant Raymond Beltran, came to blows when the officer ordered Cruz to stop dragging his sandals on the ground.

Last week, Cruz made an appearance in court for assault charges, but the judge decided to delay making a ruling until the following month.
