4 Disney Employees Arrested For Alleged Human Trafficking, Plus: Is This A Larger Trend?

Over 100 people were arrested by Florida’s Polk County Sheriff’s Office during “Operation March Sadness 2,” a six-day undercover investigation that focused on human trafficking, prostitution, and child predators, WBTW reports.

A total of 108 arrests were reportedly made, with four Disney employees included in the batch.

Deputies said that at least one of the Disney employees was caught after sending sexual images and graphic descriptions of “what he wanted to do” to an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl.

“This is huge,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. “Four arrests of this magnitude is simply remarkable.”

The story is already drawing suspicion from Americans around the country. One user on Twitter commented on the story with a collage of screenshots featuring various and entirely separate news stories about Disney employees being arrested for charges related to sex or human trafficking.

“Seems to be a reoccurring problem here,” commented Five Times August.

A collage showing various examples of separate news stories involving Disney employees that were arrested due to suspicions of crimes related to human trafficking.

Big League Politics investigated and found that many of these news stories do in fact exist. Three employees of Walt Disney World were arrested in a major child sex sting in Florida in August 2021. Other employees of Walt Disney World were caught engaging in child sex stings in July of 2014. A different group comprising of Disney World and Lego workers was arrested during a child pornography sting in June of 2018, with a total of 660 felony charges levied against the 11 suspects at the time, also under the investigations of Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Another relatively recent story featured a Disney security guard who showed up “buck naked” to a prostitution sting before being arrested by Florida police, also under the command of Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd in December of 2019. The 56-year old security guard was only one of over 100 people to be arrested for crimes relating to human trafficking during that six-day operation.

These stories appear to go way back; back in June of 2015 The Washington Post reported that a Florida child sex sting netted former workers from Disney, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios — just as the above collage suggested.
