ABC Chief Political Analyst Calls White Men “Dispensable,” Twitter Reacts Harshly

ABC’s Chief Political Analyst is facing backlash after writing an opinion piece calling for “white male Christians” to give up all power.

“I would humbly suggest that we as white male Christians take it upon ourselves to step back and give more people who don’t look like us access to the levers of power,” said Matthew Dowd.

“We as white male Christians should do what real leadership demands and practice a level of humility which demonstrates strength by stepping back from the center of the room and begin to give up our seats at the table,” he wrote.

Factually speaking, there is no scientifically researched link between race and “power.” Of course, Dowd does not specify what he means by “power.” Does he mean wealth? If so, Asian Americans and Indian Americans both, as a race, out-earn whites. “Power” is achieved not through a collective based on skin color, but rather by the individual, regardless of skin color.

Twitter was not buying what Dowd was selling.

“OK, you go first, said Commentary writer Sohrab Ahmari.

“Don’t you love that when liberals say things like this, they are never, ever referring to themselves? I mean, Dowd isn’t giving up his gig at ABC and moving to a shack in rural Montana, right?” said John Hawkins of PJ Media.

“No one is stopping you from quitting your job to make room,” said the Legal Insurrection blog.

Dowd plodded through the piece with every tired leftist talking point in the book.

“We don’t have to wait, and our country is in desperate need of more diverse leaders,” he said. “It is that diverse leadership which will not only represent more of what America looks like today, but it will give us the opportunity to find solutions which homogenous models of leadership aren’t able to.”

He offered no proof to back this claim.

“We don’t need to be the CEO of nearly every major company in America,” he said. “We don’t need to be the majority of the people who hold political power. We don’t need to be President. We don’t need to be a Supreme Court Justice. We don’t need to be the ones who dominate conversations and run the meetings.”

Notice Dowd is not advocating for more female construction workers, a trade that is 98% male. Why don’t we just have a meritocracy and let natural selection do what it does best?
