Big League Politics spoke to student activist Kaitlin Bennett of Kent State University, who resigned her post as chapter president for the conservative organization Turning Point USA.

Bennett, a self-described “right-leaning libertarian,” clashed with the national organization over foreign policy issues, and did not feel like she had free reign to be creative with her headline-grabbing activism.

Do conservative student organizations — however well-intentioned — stifle viewpoints that deviate from the Republican party line at the expense of recruiting new members who might not be lever-pulling Republicans?
