After Her Poll Numbers Drop 12 Points, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Drops All COVID Restrictions

In a stunning reversal, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has dropped all COVID-19 lockdown restrictions after keeping them in place much longer than most other states.
“Today is a day that we have all been looking forward to, as we can safely get back to normal day-to-day activities and put this pandemic behind us,” Whitmer said in a press release.
“We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the medical experts and health professionals who stood on the front lines to keep us all safe,” Whitmer added. “And we are incredibly thankful to all of the essential workers who kept our state moving. Thanks to the millions of Michiganders who rolled up their sleeves to get the safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine, we have been able to make these changes ahead of schedule.”
Whitmer is acting like this decision was made in response to the data and the science, but in actuality, her decision is nakedly political. She made the decision after plummeting in the polls and is reversing in an attempt to save her fledgling regime for another term.
Recent polling has shown that Whitmer is down a stunning 11 points to any generic Republican, a shocking drop of 12 points for the villainous governor. This follows a host of scandals including her murderous housing of COVID-19 patients in nursing homes and violation of her own edicts to party it up with friends while the little people suffered.
The firm that commissioned the survey, Cygnal, noted that their results are “based on a projected turnout model inline with historical midterm election voter trends.”
“While most Governors in the country – regardless of party affiliation – came out of the pandemic with strong marks for their leadership, Governor Whitmer appears to have used it as an opportunity to make voters like her less,” Cygnal CEO Brent Buchanan said in a news release.
“Heck, only 41 percent believe Whitmer should be re-elected. That’s a rough place to be seventeen months from Election Day,” he added.

Whitmer is learning that her actions may have consequences. It is looking like she may be a one-term governor, and she is bailing on the COVID scam as a result.
