Anti-Gun Fanatic Eric Swalwell Calls for AR-15s and Other So-Called “Assault Weapons”

On August 28, 2023, California Congressman Eric Swallwell went on X to push for the buyback of AR-15s and so-called “assault weapons”
In addition, Swalwell wants a prohibition that would prevent the future sale and manufacture of AR-15s.
Swalwell posted the following on X:
Ban assault weapons. Buy them ALL back. Choose our kids over their killers.

Swalwell’s call for additional gun control came after a gunman shot up a Jacksonville, Florida Dollar General on August 26, 2023. He was armed with a Glock handgun and an AR-15-style rifle. In light of these facts, a ban on the rifle would not have stopped the attack from occurring.
Swalwell represents California’s 14th district. California is one of the most anti-gun states in the nation, as evidenced by the state’s 48th place ranking according to Guns & Ammo magazine’s best states for gun owners rankings. BLP previously reported on Swalwell suggesting that the United States government would nuke Americans in a hypothetical Civil War scenario.
All told, any representative hailing from California is going to be as anti-gun as it gets. If we lived in a rational polity, politicians like Swalwell would not be holding public office.
Alas we live in a Clown world state where rational governance is treated like a mere afterthought. As a result, the likes of Swalwell will continue pushing for all manner of tyrannical policies.
It’s going to take relieving these public officials of the burden of holding higher office to get them to act right.
