Anti-Gun Ghoul Dianne Feinstein Pushes for New “Assault Weapons” Ban
89-year-old California Senator Dianne Feinstein is continuing to push for gun control in the wake of several mass shootings in California. She recently introduced the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2023”, which also has the support of 35 other Democrats. this includes anti-gun fixtures such as Charles Schumer, Cory Booker, Chris Murphy, Richard Blumenthal, Dick Durbin, Ron Wyden, Patty Murray and 29 other Democrats according to Dave Workman of AmmoLand.
This legislation is described as a “A bill to regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.” Blumenthal and Murphy are the chief co-sponsors of this bill
The bill is 126 pages long, with 100 pages dedicated to listing out guns that are exempted and 8 additional pages listing off which guns will be banned. Crammed into the bill are provisions for so-called “safe storage” and “identification markings” mandates. Another section is concerned with the “Seizure and forfeiture of large capacity ammunition feeding devices.”
Since arriving in the United States Senate in 1992, Feinstein has been a pillar of Gun Control Inc. She has long pushed for banning semi-automatic rifles that millions of lawful Americans use. Her office reminded the public that she was the original sponsor of the 1994 assault weapons ban which stayed in place until 2004.
On top of that, Feinstein’s bill would prohibit ammunition magazines capable of holding over 10 cartridges and provide grant money for “buy-back” programs.
In a statement that President Joe Biden released, he proclaimed that the prohibition must be passed “to do all we can to ensure the safety of our children, our communities, and our nation.”
Per a press release from Feinstein’s office, Connecticut Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy are co-sponsoring the gun ban legislation and another bill, the “Age 21 Act,” which increases the minimum age to buy “assault weapons” from 18 to 21.
Furthermore, Feinstein’s press release revealed that Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline of Rhode Island is introducing companion legislation in the House. This bill will meet its immediate demise due to Republican control of the US House. Feinstein’s bill could pass the Senate if enough Republicans cross over to give Gun Control Inc. a filibuster proof majority.
