ANTIFA-Style Activists Demand That ‘Non-Essential’ ICE Workers Flood the Streets with Illegals

Antifa Domestic Terrorist Petition

Liberals are not about to let the coronavirus crisis go to waste, and ANTIFA-style activists are behaving accordingly. They protested on Friday in New York City to demand that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) disband and let illegals in their custody onto the streets.

Activists made sure to abide by social distancing customs as they joined together for their demonstration in favor of border anarchy.

“People are dying in these cages right now,”activist Benjamin Shepard told Zenger News in a surgical mask while protesting in Times Square.

“This is a country of immigrants,” said a Brooklyn resident named Shepard to reporters. “If you’re locked up in a prison right now, it’s a death sentence.”

He added: “Abolish ICE. Free them all.”

Video of the rally as it was taking place can be seen here:

The demonstration was put together by “a coalition of groups who are opposing the detention camps that ICE runs and also incarceration generally in New York state,” according to a social justice activist who goes by the alias “Savitri D.” She is calling for Governor Andrew Cuomo to empty the prisons as well “because COVID is rampant in all the detention facilities.”

The protest came to a close outside of an ICE office on Manhattan’s south side where demonstrators claimed that ICE agents and other federal immigration enforcement officials “are not essential workers.”

There has been a national push to use the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to flood the streets with potentially dangerous illegals by the far-left:

The ACLU is even calling for ICE to empty their detention centers of illegal migrants, using the coronavirus as an excuse to implement leftist public policy.

“Immigrant detention centers are institutions that uniquely heighten the danger of disease transmission,” Eunice Cho, senior staff attorney at the ACLU’s National Prison Project, said in a statement.

“In normal circumstances, ICE has proven time and again that it is unable to protect the health and safety of detained people. These are not normal circumstances, and the heightened risk of serious harm to people in detention from COVID-19 is clear,” she added.

The ACLU is joined by the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) in filing a lawsuit against ICE based on nine migrant plantiffs who they claim have serious health conditions, but they make it clear that they hope the lawsuit has broader implications on the migrant detention system.

“If it waits to react to worst case scenarios once they take hold,” Matt Adams, legal director for the NWIRP, said regarding ICE, “it will already be too late.”

“If we can go in and get an order clarifying that the federal government indeed has the responsibility to secure the safety of those who are at high risk — and that the only meaningful way to secure their safety is to release them — then we would expect that they would comply with that, not just with these nine individuals, but all of the others who are detained there,” Adams said to CBS News.

The radical left will not hesitate to put American lives in jeopardy if it means advancing their broader goals of mass immigration and general lawlessness.
