ATF Issues Warning to Texas Firearms Dealers About Dangerous Cartel Activity

Over the last month, Texan Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) have been receiving emails and phone calls from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) cautioning them about people attempting to obtain .50 caliber rifles and belt-fed firearms.

The ATF began emailing and calling firearm dealers in the Dallas and Houston areas, warning them about attempts by straw purchasers to obtain high-powered weapons. Per one recorded phone call, the ATF believes that the cartels are responsible for the straw purchases and are “gearing up” for some big moves in the upcoming two months. The ATF agent did not provide any specifics as to what the cartel’s exact plans were. The email read as follows:

“(U) Law enforcement is advising Federal Firearms Licensees or expanding interest of criminal networks’ intention to utilize straw purchasers in acquiring large caliber firearms such as .50 caliber and/or belt fed rifles within the next 60 days. This activity is anticipated to occur throughout the entire State of Texas. Please contact your local ATF office if any suspicious, attempted or finalized purchases occur.”

The warning was extended to all of Texas. The ATF called on dealers to reach out to them immediately if they encountered any suspicious purchases.

At this point in the game, the ATF cannot be trusted. The cartel issue is ultimately one of border control. If the US didn’t have such a porous border, the cartel threat would be largely reduced.

However, thanks to the ruling class’s anarcho-tyrannical open border policies, countless Americans could see their gun rights infringed upon because of open borders-induced cartel violence.

Second Amendment rights should not be destroyed just because the ruling class can’t control the southern border from cartel violence.
