Average Gas Prices are Reaching Alarming Levels

High gas prices have been a fixture of the Biden regime.

Per findings from AAA, the average price of regular unleaded gas increased by $0.59 over the last month. The average of $4.87 per gallon reported on June 6, 2022 is the “most expensive average rate in United States history,” according to a report by Jay Clemons at Newsmax

The most notable weekly price increases took place in Michigan ($.45), Indiana ($.41), and Wisconsin ($.39).

Price increases in Colorado, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, and Texas have also been quite pronounced. Each of the aforementioned states experienced a minimum increase of $.30 per gallon over the past week.

During this upward movement in gas prices, all states in the Union are now experiencing average gas prices north of $4 per gallon. According to Clemons, Oklahoma was “the last state to eclipse the $4 mark, on average (end of May).”

The state with the lowest unleaded gas is Georgia at $4.28 per gallon according to GasBuddy.com.

Similarly Gas Buddy, highlighted that 10 different states — Indiana ($5.12 per gallon), Arizona ($5.14), Michigan ($5.15), Washington ($5.39), Oregon ($5.40), Hawaii ($5.42), Illinois ($5.43), Alaska ($5.44), Nevada ($5.48), and California ($6.33) — have gas price averages north of $5.

There are reports that a Chevron gas station in Los Angeles allegedly has unleaded fuel at $8.05 per gallon.

Chevron corporate officials tried to spin this case:

This station, along with the majority of our branded stations in California, are owned by independent businesspeople who make their own decisions about the price to charge at their stations.

Various analysts estimate that American drivers could be paying more than $5 per gallon this summer. Even analysts at JPMorgan warned about the national average potentially reaching $6.20 per gallon by August.

America is clearly facing an energy crisis, which has largely been self-imposed by the Biden regime’s policies to shut down pipelines, thus making it more difficult for reliable, nonrenewable energy to keep the American economy going.

Breaking the shackles of state intervention in the energy sector is a commonsense economic proposal that right-wing populists can rally around during the 2022 midterms.
