Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is pushing a plan, with Democratic Party support, to introduce single-payer health care, whereby Americans are issued a card to get free health insurance for the government.

Unfortunately, Sanders said in 1987 as mayor of Burlington, Vermont that socialized medicine would “bankrupt the nation.”
