Biden Administration CDC Director: We Need ANOTHER Lockdown

This past weekend, coronavirus cases in Michigan have once again seen a spike, the highest in the nation. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer used this as the reasoning behind her request to the White House for more supplies for vaccinations – a request that was ultimately denied.

Later on, at a White House briefing, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky claimed that the answer to help the people of Michigan was not vaccines, but instead another lockdown.

“We know that if vaccines go in arms today, we will not see an effect of those vaccines — depending on the vaccine — for somewhere between two and six weeks. So when you have an acute situation, an extraordinary number of cases like we have in Michigan, the answer is not necessarily to give vaccines,”

“The answer to that is to really close things down, to go back to our basics. To go back to our basics, to go back to where we were last spring, last summer. and to shut things down. To flatten the curve. To decrease contact with one another,”

In a separate interview with CBS, Walesnky claimed “if we try to vaccinate our way out of what is happening in Michigan we would be disappointed that it took so long for the vaccine to work.”

This messaging may be confusing to some, as The White House has promised that all Americans will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination by May 1st, just about two weeks from now. The idea that the vaccine will bring the American people back to normal life has been pushed widely by many across the political aisle, but it mixed messages are emanating from the current people in power.

The idea of having yet another lockdown runs contrary to observable results of the effectiveness of various restrictions that have been enforced in the United States since March 2020. This perhaps most clearly demonstrated in the example of Florida vs. New York, in which the former had far less deaths per capita from COVID-19 despite having a much older average population with few restrictions imposed upon them.

As the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent power grab by various tyrannical figures in the government continues, many Americans are growing tired of the seemingly endless restrictions. Some may wonder if the American people will ever take their rights back, after being trampled upon for so long. As long as the American people continue to accept tyranny, tyranny is what they’ll get. One thing is for certain – the more the people push back, the harder it gets to strip their freedoms away.

Pushing back on yet another lockdown is vital if we’re to avoid the pain and ineffectiveness of draconian controls.
