Biden Admits To Having Prepared List Of His Own Reporters During Israel Press Conference

It is nice to see some honesty out of the White House! Joe Biden added yet another infraction to his long list of gaffes after the White House occupant said he was “given a list” of reporters to call on during a joint press conference in Jerusalem Thursday with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

Biden’s flub came after the Israeli prime minister prompted a reporter to ask him a question. Confusion briefly ensued before Biden publicly made the admission.

Reporter: Mr. President, do you want to call on the next question?

Biden: Ummm… Sure… Uh… I uh… was given a list here… uh… Steve Holland of Reuters!”

Fox News reported that Biden checked the list repeatedly as the conference progressed.

“The next person to ask us a question, I guess, is Nadia [Bilbassy],” he said, referring to a reporter from an Arabic news outlet.

This news comes just one day after Biden drew laughter around the world when he accidentally called for people to “keep alive the truth and honor of the Holocaust.” He quickly corrected his mistake, saying “horror,” soon after.

“Later today, I will once more return to the hallowed ground of … Yad Vashem to honor the 6 million Jewish lives that were stolen in a genocide and continue — which we must do every, every day — continue to bear witness, to keep alive the truth and honor of the Holocaust — horror of the Holocaust — honor those we lost, so that we never, ever forget that lesson, you know, and to continue our shared, unending work to fight the poison of anti-Semitism wherever it raises its ugly head,” Biden announced in comments covered by Big League Politics.

This is not the first time Joe Biden has drawn attention for his out-loud admissions that his reporters are often arranged in advance; he was mocked last year for “saying the quiet part out loud” after informing the reporters that he would only call on those pre-approved by the administration staff. He also more recently stated he was “told” to call on Darlene Superville from Associated Press during a press conference in Madrid following the NATO Summit in June.
