Biden Regime Throws Out Menthol Cigarette Prohibition Out Fear of Alienating Black Voters

The Biden regime is postponing its prospective plan to prohibit menthol cigarettes after misgivings about the political implications of this move. The conventional wisdom is that such a move could potentially alienate black voters in the 2024 presidential election.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra announced the news in a statement on April 26, highlighting that the potential prohibition “will take significantly more time.”

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the potential move came after the Biden regime analyzed the health effects versus the political ramifications of alienating black voters prior to the 2024 election.

Several Republican strategists believe that such a move by the Biden regime could hurt Biden’s black base of support. Blacks have generally been the most reliable voting bloc for the Democrat Party. Menthol cigarettes are a consumption staple for blacks and any more to ban them would obviously ruffle their feathers.

“Black voters overwhelmingly backed Joe Biden in 2020, but polls show they aren’t nearly as excited to back him in 2024,” a Republican strategist said to the Daily Caller. “The data shows menthol cigarettes are overwhelmingly preferred by Black smokers, so some may perceive this ban as an unfair attack on them. At a time when polls show Biden is in an incredibly tight race, I’m surprised he would risk upsetting such a key constituency by banning menthol cigarettes.”

If we’re being honest here, blacks are going to continue to vote Democrat until the end of time. The Democrats are the anti-white, Great Replacement Party. For blacks, the Republicans and other right-wingers are viewed as the devil.

No matter how hard both parties attempt to appeal to them, blacks will continue to give them the cold shoulder. At this point, Republicans will have to cut their losses and focus more on shoring up their support with whites of all backgrounds.
