BITTER: Nancy Pelosi TEARS UP Copy of Trump’s State of The Union As Speech Ends

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was seen physically tearing up a written-word copy of President Trump’s state of the union address on Tuesday night as the President’s speech concluded.

 

It’s unclear what Speaker Pelosi thought she was accomplishing through the infantile stunt. The general public is largely aware that she opposes Trump politically and just tried to ram through an impeachment trial. Ripping up the State of the Union raises questions as to why she even attended the event in the first place.

Pelosi refused to introduce President Trump in the manner the Speaker of the House traditionally does for State of the Union address.

The President is usually addressed with the following introduction.

“Members of Congress, I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the President of the United States.”

Pelosi instead gave the following dumbed-down, brisk, and cold introduction.

“Members of Congress, the president of the United States.”

Pelosi’s antics weren’t totally ignored, with the President justifiably denying her a handshake as she tried to interrupt the annual address with puerile digs.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich called for Nancy Pelosi to be censured for the politically unprecedented cheap shot. The State of the Union address traditionally has been largely separate from ongoing partisan political disputes, something that appears to have been changed as Democrats adjust to an existence of perpetual derangement during the Trump presidency.

If Pelosi is so upset to be in the presence of the President for the State of the Union address, she should simply refrain from entering the House chamber while the President speaks. There’s no good reason why the American people should be denied a crucial political tradition just because a sourpuss is making an attempt to score political points with childish stunts.
