BREAKING: President Trump to Pull 7,000 Troops out of Afghanistan

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the President Trump is withdrawing 7,000 troops from Afghanistan.

“More than 7,000 American troops will begin to return home from Afghanistan in the coming weeks, a U.S. official said,” Wall Street Journal said.”The move will come as the first stage of a phased drawdown and the start of a conclusion to the 17-year war that officials say could take at least many months. There now are more than 14,000 U.S. troops.”

The move comes on the heels of Trump’s announcement to pull all American troops out of Syria, and the Thursday evening resignation of his Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis over foreign policy disagreements.

The move represents a promise kept to the Trump base, which is war-weary after suffering through nearly two decades of endless war in the Middle East. The announcement to bring the troops home from Syria sent the war mongering GOP establishment into a conniption.
