BREAKING: Tucker Carlson Leaves Fox News

On April 24, 2023, Fox News announced that host Tucker Carlson had left the network. His final show aired on April 21, 2023. Per a statement that Fox News released, the outlet stated “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

“Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” the statement added.

Carlson was the host enjoying the highest ratings on Fox, picking up an average of over 3 million viewers on a nightly basis. This was the most of any political pundit on cable television.

The right-wing host’s exit from Fox came less than a week following its $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over a defamation lawsuit that the latter brought against the former over coverage of former President Donald Trump’s allegations of voter fraud and the company’s software.

Carlson’s show kicked off in 2016 and served as a strong counterbalance to the network’s regular, neoconservative programming by talking about immigration, race relations, and a restrained foreign policy — issues that conservatives have traditionally run away from. Before joining Fox News in 2009, Tucker previously hosted the nightly program, Tucker on MSNBC, from 2005 to 2008.

Tucker’s presence on Fox was a sigh of relief. With him out of the picture at Fox, the network will remain a neocon mouthpiece. The good news is that with Tucker now independent, he now has more opportunities to sound off on the most politically incorrect issues of our time.

Here’s to Tucker building his own platform to spread the truth in a time when people are constantly spreading deceit. We need real dissident voices to challenge the corrupt status quo.
