The California Democratic Party split its delegate candidates up this year by brand new gender categories: “Self-Identified Female” or “Male/Other than Self-Identified Female.”
The two categories are basically different caucuses and seven members of each category won their delegate elections.
Here is the evidence from California Democratic Party materials:
“Gender: (In keeping with CDP Policy, Gender shall mean one being either “self-identified female” or “other than self-identified female.”
