California to Pay Health Benefits to Illegal Aliens

California will begin giving healthcare benefits to low-income illegal aliens, according to a Sunday report.
“Under an agreement between Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democrats in the state legislature, low-income adults between the ages of 19 and 25 living in California illegally would be eligible for California’s Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal,” Fox News said. “The deal emerged as part of a broader $213 billion budget.”
The report said that the plan will take effect in Jan. 2020, and will benefit nearly 100,000 illegal aliens.
The plan mirrors the Affordable Care Act in that it will be paid for by those who do not have health insurance.

“To pay for part of it, the state agreed to start taxing people who don’t have health insurance. It’s a revival of the individual-mandate penalty that had been on the books nationwide under former President Barack Obama’s health-care law until Republicans in Congress eliminated it as part of the 2017 overhaul to the tax code.”
The report noted that the law was designed to distance the state of California from President Donald J. Trump’s immigration policies.
Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., progress has been slow on curbing illegal immigration.

President Donald J. Trump has declared a national state of emergency, for which several heavily-blue states immediately sued his administration. Democrats refuse to budge on the issue, unwilling to secure America’s borders. As illegal border crossings surge, they blocked a meaningful amount of wall funding in the 2019 federal budget.
In what many conservatives see as a colossal failure, the Republican Congress, led by former Speaker Paul Ryan, current Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, failed to deliver wall funding to the president’s desk during all of 2017 and 2018, when Republicans held the House, the Senate, and the White House.
