CATFIGHT: Tulsi Gabbard Files Lawsuit Against Hillary Clinton Over ‘Russian Asset’ Smears

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who is running for the Democrat nomination for President, has filed a lawsuit against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after she alluded to Gabbard as a “Russian asset” in a podcast interview last year.

“Clinton falsely stated that Tulsi—an Army National Guard officer and United States Congresswoman who has spent her entire adult life serving this country—is a ‘Russian asset.’ Clinton’s false assertions were made in a deliberate attempt to derail Tulsi’s presidential campaign,” the complaint reads.

Clinton never mentioned Gabbard by name during her appearance on the Campaign HQ podcast, but it was not difficult to discern who the failed 2016 presidential candidate was referring to with her remarks.

“She’s a favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far and that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she is also a Russian asset,” Clinton said on the podcast.

“They know they can’t win without a third-party candidate, and so I do not know who it is going to be but I can guarantee you they will have a vigorous third-party challenge in the key states that they most need it,” she added.

Gabbard immediately fired back at Clinton after she made the baseless allegation:

Her complaint estimates that the damages caused by Clinton’s alleged defamatory statements “exceed $50 million – and continue to this day.”

“Americans do not want to support Russian interference in the 2020 election, and because Clinton maliciously lied, many Americans now associate Tulsi with such foreign interference. In short, Clinton has to date gotten exactly what she wanted by spreading malicious lies about Tulsi through the Defamatory Statements: she has greatly harmed Tulsi’s Presidential Campaign,” the complaint reads.

The entire complaint can be seen here.

In addition to trashing Gabbard, Clinton is also taking aim at Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), her opponent during the bitter 2016 Democrat presidential primary.

“He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done,” Clinton said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”

“I just think people need to pay attention because we want, hopefully, to elect a president who’s going to try to bring us together, and not either turn a blind eye, or actually reward the kind of insulting, attacking, demeaning, degrading behavior that we’ve seen from this current administration,” Clinton added.

Clinton is unwittingly doing the bidding of the Russians by sowing discord within her own political party due to her own extreme pettiness. She still hasn’t ruled out another presidential run this year.
