Catholic Priests Arrested for Having Sex in Car in Miami

A pair of Catholic priests were arrested for committing sex acts in a car in Miami, according to a Tuesday report.

“Two Chicago-area priests were charged Monday with Lewd and Lascivious behavior and Indecent Exposure after being caught performing a sexual act inside a car parked on a Miami Beach street,” said CBS Miami.

Miami Beach Police said that 39-year-old Diego Berrio and 30-year-old Edwin GiraldoCortez were in the front seat of a car performing oral sex. Ernesto Rodriguez, spokesman for the department, said that cops were tipped off to the lewd behavior by a bystander.

“Yesterday, we received a call indicating that two men were performing a sex act inside of a car. This is in broad daylight, 13th Street and Ocean Drive. There are no tints on the window,” he said.

When the police arrived on the scene, the two were still committing their sin and were reportedly so engrossed in the activity that they did not notice the police.

“We observed the two males performing the sex act, the officer had to tap on the window to get their attention,” said Rodriguez.

The two were taken into custody shortly thereafter.

The arrests come amidst a month of bad press for the Catholic Church.

At the end of July, more than 300 “predator priests” were named in a redacted Pennsylvania Supreme Court report. Cardinal Theodore McCarrick of the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. resigned at nearly the same time after being outed as a sexual deviant. Finally, an Archbishop recently claimed that Pope Francis knew about McCarrick’s abuses and covered for him.
