CDC Confirms the Obvious: Virtual Schooling Hurts the Mental Stability and Well-Being of Children

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report has confirmed that virtual school hurts the mental well-being and stability of children in comparison to school that takes place in person.

The CDC surveyed over 1,200 parents with children aged between 5 and 12 years old, and they noted that virtual learners and their parents scored higher on 11 of the 17 stress indicators, which measures factors such as the mental health of children, levels of physical activity and the emotional distress of the parents.

The research was conducted during Oct. 8 and Nov. 13, 2020, and 1,290 parents participated in the CDC survey. 45.7 percent of parents said that their children were engaging in online-only classes, and only 31 percent had started attending in-person classes at that time. 92.9 percent of participants confirmed they had children enrolled in public schools.

The lockdowns are having profoundly negative mental and physical effects on children. 62.9 percent of children engaged in virtual learning reported having decreased physical activity while only 30.3 percent of children going to in-person school have decreased physical activity. Children attending in-person classes score higher in other key metrics as well.

In terms of time spent inside, in-person time spent between friends, virtual time spent with friends, decreased mental or emotional health, there was a wide disparity in favor of children attending in-person class. Blended students, who attend in-person and virtual courses, only have posted slightly better results than their virtual-only counterparts.

“Parents of children receiving in-person instruction reported the lowest prevalence of negative indicators of child and parental well-being. Children receiving virtual or combined instruction and their parents might need additional support to mitigate stress,” CDC researchers wrote in their study.

“CDC is committed to leading with science and updating our guidance as new evidence emerges,” says CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky in a media release.

“Safe in-person instruction gives our kids access to critical social and mental health services that prepare them for the future, in addition to the education they need to succeed. These updated recommendations provide the evidence-based roadmap to help schools reopen safely, and remain open, for in-person instruction,” she added.

Republican leaders such as Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has fought bought-and-paid-for bureaucrats like Dr. Anthony Fauci as they spread fear porn to keep schools closed and keep the senseless COVID-19 hysteria alive.

Big League Politics has reported on Paul’s public flagellation of the disgraced doom prophet before the Senate:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci for his coronavirus fear-mongering at a Senate hearing on Tuesday.

“It is a fatal conceit to believe any one person or small group of people has the knowledge necessary to direct an economy or dictate public health behavior. I think government experts need to show caution in their prognostications,” Paul said at the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing, which featured so-called coronavirus experts from the Trump administration.

“It’s important to realize that if society meekly submits to an expert and that expert is wrong, a great deal of harm may occur when we allow one man’s policy or one group of small men and women to be foisted on an entire nation,” Paul added.

Paul pointed to the facts of what has happened in countries that have opened up their schools and how it did not cause massive outbreaks of COVID-19.

“Take for example government experts who continue to call for schools and day care to stay closed or that recommend restrictions that make it impossible for a school to function. There are examples from all across the United States and around the world that show that young children rarely spread the virus,” he stated, referencing countries such as Denmark, France and Germany that have re-opened.

“No spike when schools are opened. Central planners have enough knowledge somehow to tell a nation of some 330 million people what they can and can’t do,” Paul said.

It is past time to reopen schools and the rest of society, as the so-called public health experts have been proven wrong time and again.
