CDC Removed Defensive Gun Use Statistics After Facing Pressure from Gun Control Inc
According to a FOX News report, the Centers Centers for Disease Control and Prevention removed statistical figures illustrating roughly 2.5 million annual defensive gun use (DGUs) cases after facing pressure from gun control activists.
FOX News alluded to an email that pro-Second Amendment website The Reload obtained and published.
Per the emails, the CDC was exposed for falling to anti-gun pressure. Specifically, it was compelled to remove links to a summary of studies on DGUs which demonstrated that annual DGU cases span between 60,000 and 2.5 million. AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News noted that the latter number of DGU cases would “totally” eclipse incidents of criminal gun usage.
One of the emails was allegedly sent by Mark Bryant, the executive director of the Gun Violence Archive. In it, he said “that 2.5 Million number needs to be killed, buried, dug up, killed again and buried again. It is highly misleading, is used out of context and I honestly believe it has zero value — even as an outlier point in honest DGU discussions.”
Bryant allegedly lamented how once the CDC study on DGUs went public, “gun violence prevention policy … ground to a halt.”
The Gun Violence Archive executive director allegedly complained about Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck’s work. Kleck’s work on DGUs was featured in the CDC summary.
Kleck is one of the leading researchers whose work has demonstrated that lawful gun owners engage in many acts of legitimate self-defense.
Per The Reload’s report, gun control advocates had trouble getting in touch with people at the CDC who had the power to scrub the information off the agency’s website. Reportedly, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin and the Biden regime intervened to put the gun control proponents in touch with the relevant parties in. From there, annual figures on DGUs were wiped off the website.
The US is currently in a post-truth phase of its history where the shapers of public opinion try to distort reality to push their own self-serving agenda. Manipulating statistics is one way to do so. When it’s clear that the data show private gun ownership actually serves the public good, these power hungry types must completely cook data to get their point across.
These are pathologically dishonest people who are obsessed with controlling others. There’s no reasoning with these types. They must be crushed at the polls and completely ostracized from polite society.
