Chuck Todd: ‘Shocking’ Poll Shows 71% Believe U.S. on Wrong Track — ‘Scary News for Democrats’

NBC anchor Chuck Todd sounded the alarm for Democrats with a new poll on “Meet the Press” Sunday, which showed 71% of Americans believe the U.S. is on the wrong track, Info Wars reported.
“We have a brand new NBC news poll out this morning still with some scary news for the Democrats. The overarching message, Americans have lost their confidence in President Joe Biden and their optimism for the country,” Todd lamented.
“At least they have right now. Just 22% of adults say we are headed in the right direction. A shocking 71% say we’re on the wrong track and that includes a near majority of Democrats who are saying that.”
“Good Sunday morning — We have a brand new NBC News poll out this morning that’s filled with tough news for Democrats,” reads an online post by the show. “President Biden’s job performance — Approve: 42 Disapprove: 54.”
“President Biden’s approval rating stands at a dismal 42% versus 54% who disapprove,” he continued. “Believe it or not, just two months ago Mr. Biden was in positive territory, 49 approving. So what’s pulling down the president’s numbers?”
Numerous seemingly left-leaning viewers have commented on the post, many of them attacking Todd for the commentary and denying the premise that Biden or the United States is doing badly in the first place.
“71% say the country is headed in the wrong direction? How and why? Can someone explain? Who the heck are these people,” wrote one viewer.
“Chuck is almost giddy that Biden’s numbers have fallen. Meet the Press needs another person to do this show. I just stopped watching it,” posted another.
“Hey news people stop just doing negative reporting and maybe people might see the good that is happening,” wrote another user, likely as a sarcastic joke targeted at those who are furious with Todd for reporting Biden’s dismal poll numbers.
Todd went on to say Republicans have “double-digit leads” on issues Americans care about, including the economy and inflation.
“What’s more, Republicans, believe it or not, have double-digit leads in dealing with border security, inflation, crime, national security, the economy, and, shockingly, on getting things done,” Todd noted.
“Democrats hold generally smaller double-digit leads on dealing with climate change, the coronavirus, education, and abortion. That’s really it right now.”
Many see the upcoming Virginia gubernatorial election as a political bellwether for the midterm elections, with Democrat candidate Terry McAuliffe recently drawing heat for being dishonest about what school system he had his children go through.
