CNN Poll Shows Biden Approval Rating ‘Lowest Among Recent Presidents’ Thanks To Inflation

It feels like Joe Biden’s approval numbers keep getting worse and worse by the day. Americans are not confident that the President is “on the right track,” nor do they believe he and his administration is doing all in their power to put the country first.

Put differently, an overwhelming majority of Americans think the country is not doing well.

According to a CNN/SSRS poll that consisted of more than 1,400 adults, only 21% of Americans believe things are going well for the country under Joe Biden. That comes out to just over 2 out of 10 Americans, with an even smaller percentage of 18% saying that economic conditions were good.

In other words, Americans do not approve of Joe Biden’s handling of the economy, nor do they believe he is focusing on the hot-button issues that are plaguing many families today like inflation, skyrocketing gas prices, and the disastrous Southern Border.

Moreover, when the CNN poll asked respondents whether they thought Biden “has the right priorities,” only 31% agreed while 68% said the President “hasn’t paid enough attention to the country’s most important problems.”

It’s no wonder only roughly 36% of Americans still hold a favorable opinion of Biden, with 54% having an unfavorable opinion. Kamala Harris is sitting around an even lower approval rating of just 32%, while even First Lady Jill Biden is teetering around the 34% mark.

According to a CNBC poll that was released on Monday, Biden’s abysmal approval ratings are mostly because of the out-of-control economy. A meager 30% of Americans approve of President Joe Biden’s economic performance. Meanwhile, 51% of Americans believe Biden’s attempts to combat inflation are “making no difference.”

30% of Americans say that Biden’s efforts are “actually hurting” the economy. While only a mere 12% believe the President’s moves are “helping.”

Last Wednesday, CNN data analyst Harry Enten said that Biden’s approval ratings were continuing to plummet because “inflation is eating his presidency alive.”

Joining CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, Enten shared that Biden’s disapproval rating is higher than that of any other president to date at the same point in his presidency.

“A year ago, no one was saying inflation was a concern outside of Larry Summers. Now, it is a clear number one issue, and we see this clear correlation as more people are concerned about inflation, Joe Biden’s disapproval rating climbs ever higher,” Enten said in the above clip said.

When asked about how Biden’s numbers stacked up against former President Barrack Obama, Enten replied: “We can look at both Joe Biden’s disapproval rating on inflation and Joe Biden’s disapproval rating overall, and what we see is his disapproval rating on inflation is topping 70%. His disapproval rating overall is still in the 50s.”

“But, if you compare that to every single other president at this point in their first term throughout polling history, this goes all the way back since the 1940s, he is the worst on both,” Enten continued. “And the reason he is worst overall is because inflation is eating his presidency alive at this point.”
