Colorado Democrats Introduce a New Series of Gun Grabs

On February 23, 2023, Colorado Democrats unveiled the filing of four firearms bills. Republicans in the state government promise to oppose these gun grabs.
Democratic elected officials claim that the bills will bolster Colorado’s “red flag” gun confiscation order, raise the minimum age to buy firearms from 18 to 21, establish a three-day waiting period, and strip firearm sellers and manufacturers of their legal protections.
“These are incredibly important bills that will save lives,” Senate President Steve Fenberg, declared during a press conference in February 23. “We worked for months on practical language and with stakeholders, advocates and gun violence survivors to make sure these policies will be effective and, most importantly, enforced.”
House Minority Leader Mike Lynch countered by noting that Coloradans want legislators to concentrate more on crime, education, and inflation not increasing government intrusion.
“Up until this moment, Coloradans have been free to exercise their constitutional rights to legally purchase and bear arms,” Lynch remarked in a statement. “We Republicans are the only ones that are standing between these ongoing legislative assaults on Coloradans abilities to protect themselves, their families, and their homes. The radical members of the Democrat caucus have taken advantage of their super majority to push through an anti-constitution, anti-freedom, and anti-Colorado agenda.”
Over the past two decades, Colorado has transformed into an anti-gun bastion. Once a relatively pro-gun state, Colorado is ranked in 40th place according to Guns & Ammo magazine’s latest rankings for best states for gun owners due to its passage of gun control legislation ranging from universal background checks to red flag gun confiscation orders.
If Colorado were to pass these latest barrage of gun control laws, it will only descend into the abyss of gun control tyranny and join the likes of California and New York as anti-gun safe spaces.
