Columbia Professor Calls for UN Investigation to Determine Who Carried Out Nord Stream Attacks

Columbia professor Jeffrey Sachs claimed there is a good deal of evidence and motive that the United States government was responsible for carrying out the Nord Stream pipeline terrorism attacks at a United Security Council meeting. Sachs subsequently called for the UN to carry out an investigation to find out who carried out the attacks.
“The White House has described Hersh’s account as completely and utterly false, unquote. But did not offer any information contradicting Hersh’s account and did not offer any alternative explanation. Senior US officials made statements before and after the Nordstrom destruction that showed the US animus towards the pipelines,” Sachs said during the UN Security Council meeting, referring to investigative journalist Seymour Hersh’s damning report exposing the Nord Stream pipeline attacks.
In another interview with Chinese media, Sachs claimed that Hersh’s report which argued that the Biden regime planned and ordered the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines is “credible”.
“I think the Hersh article is very credible, and while it has been rejected by the U.S. and other governments, they haven’t provided any single detail disputing the article. It’s just been a flat rejection saying this is a fantasy, this is false,” stated Sachs.
John Cody of Remix News noted that Sachs is the director of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and belongs to the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and is a professor at said university.
During the UN Security Council meeting, Sachs called attention to how Biden regime officials made several statements that revealed its intention to “end” the pipelines.
“On January 27, 2022, Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland tweeted, ‘If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nordstrom 2 will not move forward.’ On February 7th, President Biden said, ‘If Russia invades again, then there will be no longer Nordstrom 2. We will bring an end to it.’”
Sachs continued by noting that because of the difficulty of Russia being able to place the explosives in NATO waters, it meant the US or some of its Western satrapies working with the knowledge of the US, are the only suspects capable of carrying out this attack.
“Ukraine lacks the necessary technologies as well as access to the Baltic Sea. A recent report by the Washington Post revealed that the intelligence agencies of the NATO countries have privately concluded that there is no evidence whatsoever that Russia carried out this action. This also comports with the fact that Russia had no obvious motive to carry out this act of terrorism on its own critical infrastructure. Indeed, Russia is likely to bear considerable expenses to repair the pipelines.”
Sachs also said in his interview with CCTV that either the US carried out the attack or an additional state actor with the US’s cooperation.
“To my mind, that leaves the United States, the UK, as I say, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Poland, perhaps as those who carried it out. I can assure you that if any of the others carried it out, they did it with the knowledge and cooperation of the United States,” commented Sachs.
Per Sachs, due to how the attack took place in NATO waters, whichever state actor launched the attack would have to be able to freely operate in NATO waters, which are under heavy surveillance. As a matter of fact, this makes it less likely Russia carried out the attack, thereby pointing to some degree of NATO culpability. For one, NATO vessels and other assets present in the area would be less likely to get caught and flagged by high-tech surveillance equipment present in the area.
Hersh’s report was initially published on February 8, 2023, when he recounted how US Navy divers, under instructions from the CIA, planted C4 explosives on the pipelines in June 2022. The divers took advantage of a mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22 and used it as a smokescreen to carry out their operation.
During the UN meeting Sachs declared that the UN must also investigate this incident as opposed to only NATO nations. Sachs’ calls for accountability should be praised. The US Deep State must be held accountable for its malfeasances abroad. It’s one of the few ways that US foreign policy can ultimately be restrained.
