Conservative Gatekeeper Erick Erickson Calls for Pro-Trump Protestors to be Shot

As cliche as it may sound, moments of crisis are when people show their true colors.
In the last four years, Erick Erickson has demonstrated time and time again that he is a gatekeeper of the highest order. He called for Dissident Right commentators such as Alex Jones, Laura Loomer, and Paul Joseph Watson to be censored for being “reactionaries”, has had fantasies about a Mike Pence/Nikki Haley ticket, defended Mitt Romney during the impeachment farce, and even supported Marco Rubio’s dubious assertion of right-wing involvement during the BLM riots of the past summer.
On January 6, 2021, Erickson took his pettiness to a whole new level by calling for demonstrators who broke into the D.C. capitol to be shot.
Erickson tweeted, “Shoot the protestors. Waive the rules, impeach. Waive the rules, convict, Waive the rules, deny the ability to run for election again.”
To make matters worse, Erickson revealed his anti-Trump colors by calling for a summary impeachment of President Donald Trump, in clear violation of the Constitution. Erickson’s tweet was ultimately removed by Twitter for violating its guidelines.
Irrespective of the merits of the demonstrators’ actions, it is amusing how a conservative commentator is losing his mind over these protests, when he would likely be cheering on violent protests abroad in countries that are on the State Department’s naughty list. Anytime there’s a protest against a regime D.C. does not approve of, these people will praise the demonstrators no matter how violent they get and describe these acts as expressions of democracy.
Geopolitical strategist Niccolo Soldo pointed out such hypocrisy in a tweet where he observed, “In Ukraine protesters were shot and the US State Department and American media lost its shit. This guy is openly calling for the same thing to be done to Americans today.”

This is a mask off moment for Erickson. Conbservative figures like him want to go back to the politically correct Republican Party of yesterday which never pushed the envelope and did nothing to keep the Left in check.
Any serious right wing movement in America is doomed if the likes of Erickson end up having their way.

White Pill: Montana House Moves Constitutional Carry Bill Forward
Constitutional Carry is one ray of hope for the Right.

On January 20, 2021, the Montana House of Representatives passed Constitutional Carry legislation, HB102.
Dean Weingarten of Ammoland.com reported that the bill passed by a 66 to 31 margin.
Weingarten provided some context to the significance of this bill’s progress:
The bill is the accumulation of a decade and a half of struggle against Democrat Governors, who have repeatedly vetoed reform legislation passed with large majorities in the legislature. Numerous sections in the bill show the Montana legislature has learned the lesson from other states as they restore the right to keep and bear arms.
Montana’s Senate is made up of 31 Republicans and 19 Democrats and Governor Greg Gianforte is a Republican, so the passage of this bill augurs well. If passed, HB102 would make Montana the 17th Constitutional Carry state.
Montana is already a very gun-friendly state, and represents a low-hanging fruit for Second Amendment activists to tap into.
Constitutional Carry has been one of the most successful movements on the Right over the past twenty years. It’s easy to complain about the corrupt status quo, but there are still plenty of ways right-wingers can score victories. Constitutional Carry is one of them.
It would behoove the Right to analyze existing trends and build off movements that are already producing results. There’s no need to embark on quixotic campaigns that end up being total fools’ errands. Find what’s already working and run with it.
