Constitutional Carry is Officially Dead in Texas

Establishment Gun Lobby Provides Cover for Spineless House Speaker

Put a fork in Texas’s Constitutional Carry bill, HB 357.

On April 5, 2019 State Representative Jonathan Stickland cancelled his request for a committee hearing on his Constitutional Carry bill.

Stickland’s withdrawal of Constitutional Carry came after a Fake News outrage swept the state during the past week.

An otherwise peaceful block walking campaign conducted by Texas Gun Rights activist Chris McNutt recently drew the ire of House Speaker Dennis Bonnen.

BLP reported how McNutt peacefully left flyers in the districts of House lieutenants like Four Price and Dustin Burrows, and even in Bonnen’s district.

However, this was too much for the gatekeeping House Speaker who went as far as to say that McNutt’s peaceful actions were a demonstration of “insanity” and accused him of being an “overzealous advocate for criminals to get a gun.”

Even establishment gun lobbies like the Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA), a state affiliate of the NRA, provided cover for Bonnen in an email condemning McNutt’s actions and dismissing Texas Gun Rights as a “fringe gun group”.

In a podcast hosted by Derek Wills of Lone Star Gun Rights, National Association for Gun Rights (the parent organization of Texas Gun Rights) Political Director Chris Stone defended McNutt’s actions and set the record straight.

Stone asserted that “advocating for Constitutional Carry is not a fringe issue. It is the number #1 gun rights issue in every state legislature across the country.”

States like Kentucky, Oklahoma, and South Dakota have already passed this legislation within the first four months of 2019.

One of the silver linings of this encounter was Bonnen’s anti-gun Freudian slip.

In a Facebook post, Bonnen revealed his opposition to Constitutional Carry saying that Texas Gun Rights activists “want anyone – including criminals – to be able to carry a gun without a license and proper safety training.” This runs counter to the Constitutional Carry legislation in question, which only applies to individuals who are able to legally own a firearm.

I want to thank the Texas State Rifle Association – the state’s premier organization fighting for Second Amendment…

Bonnen’s talking point, which could pass up as language employed by anti-gun organizations such as Moms Demand Action, did not faze the TSRA in the slightest. They have still stood by the establishment House Speaker.

As BLP covered before, no-compromise gun rights activists in the Lone Star State fear that the political class in Austin is playing a dangerous game by not passing Constitutional Carry.

The more Texas kicks the can down the road, the more it leaves itself susceptible to anti-gun onslaughts. 2018 already saw Florida, a traditionally pro-gun state, fall to gun control pressure.

Will Texas be next?

The future remains unclear.

However, NAGR’s Chris Stone promised that the gun rights organization plans on “doubling down” the pressure on Texas politicians who refuse to follow through with one of the main planks of the Texas Republican Party platform—passing Constitutional Carry.

Regardless of what happens in the 2019 legislative session, the 2020 primary season is bound to be heated now that establishment Republicans in Texas have shown their true colors.

Bill Gates Believes Everything Won’t be Normal Until there is Widespread Vaccination in America

LifeSite News reported that Microsoft founder Bill Gates believes life will not be the same after the Wuhan Virus subsides.

However, there’s a catch.

Things will not go back to “normal” until the population is “widely vaccinated.”

During an  interview with CBS This Morning, that went out on April 2, Gates predicted that people’s concerns about large public gatherings would be alleviated “once we have the vaccination.” This could potentially take 18 months to come about.

“Our foundation works a lot on diagnostics and vaccines,” Gates stated. Vaccine producers are the ones “that can really get things back on track where we’re not worried about large public gatherings.”

In Gates’ view, “there’s a lot of dialog between our foundation experts and the government,” about opening up life to normal activities after the pandemic is under control.

“Which activities, like schools, have such benefit and can be done in a way that the risk of transmission is very low? And which activities, like mass gatherings, may be – in a certain sense – more optional? And so until you’re widely vaccinated, those may not come back at all.”

The Microsoft founder floated 18 months as a possible timeline for a reversion to normalcy.

Gates is a well-known proponent of abortion and population control. He has talked about using vaccines in the past as a means of controlling world’s population.

“Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we lower that [the population] by perhaps 10 or 15 percent,” he said at a 2010 TED  conference.

Some parents are obviously concerned about the implications for parental rights, health, or religious freedoms if a vaccine is introduced.

During the CBS interview, Gates claimed that there are currently “seven or more” potential vaccines that could fight the Wuhan Virus pandemic. In order to guarantee that there are billions of doses of the vaccine available right out of the gate, Gates put forward the idea of building factories that would mass produce each of these vaccines as testing is being conducted concurrently.

Gates admitted that “only probably two of the vaccines will be the ones we go ahead with,” conceding that there exist major risks involved in seeing this plan through.

Gates also commented that a national strategy to the Wuhan Virus pandemic is needed, alluding to what he wrote about in a Washington Post op-ed on April 1.

“Because people can travel freely across state lines, so can the virus. The country’s leaders need to be clear: Shutdown anywhere means shutdown everywhere. Until the case numbers start to go down across America – which could take 10 weeks or more – no one can continue business as usual or relax the shutdown,” Gates commented.

In the CBS This Morning interview, Gates stressed the importance of acting quickly after the Wuhan Virus outbreak.

“We understand what needs to be done here. It’s going to be very painful. But taking the pain early means there’s a lot less pain both medically and economically than if we dilly-dally and wait until every town has big numbers before we react.”

Gates said that the Wuhan Virus pandemic will cost trillions of dollars, on top of hundreds of thousands of lives globally when it’s all said and done. “For the next one, we will be far more ready than we were for this one,” he predicted.

As many Americans seek to protect their liberties in a time of uncertainty — as evidenced by the number of people rushing to buy firearms and ammo — globalist oligarchs like Gates are concocting plots to advance crony capitalist projects that will infringe on the rights of millions of Americans.

Gates may have been a great entrepreneur, his politics, on the other hand, are straight out of the globalist playbook.
