Cory Booker Wants to Throw Americans in Jail if They Don’t Turn in Their Guns

According to the Washington Examiner, Cory Booker supports legislation that would throw Americans behind bars if they don’t turn in their “assault weapons.”

Booker is specifically referring to a buyback program where citizens turn in their guns so that they can later be sold to the government.

The New Jersey Senator and 2020 presidential hopeful declared that incarceration could be a possible option after a “reasonable period” has elapsed after the buyback offer.

Booker told CNN, “Again, we should have a law that bans these weapons, and we should have a reasonable period in which people can turn in these weapons. Right now we have a nation that allows in streets and communities like mine these weapons that should not exist.”

This statement came after the unveiling of Booker’s latest gun control proposal. BLP reported on the contents of this package which include a national licensing program for gun owners, bans on assault weapons, bump stocks, and high-capacity magazines, and limits on monthly gun purchases.

New Jersey is one of the most anti-gun states in the country, which is reflected in its 50th place ranking in Guns & Ammo magazine.

Booker’s latest gun control proposal highlights how gun control has now become a litmus test issue for virtually all Democrats in the 2020 presidential elections.
