D.C. Police Disarm Lawful Citizens at March Against Guns

Washington, D.C. has some of the most restrictive concealed carry laws in the entire country. Despite that, D.C. Police still banned the lawful carry of firearms in the vicinity of the March for Our Lives event, threatening to arrest anyone carrying a gun, even with a concealed carry permit valid in the city.

Take a look for yourself, they actually disarmed residents by a posted decree citing DC Code § 7–2509.07.

As Big League Politics already reported, many of the attendees were opposed to gun ownership all together. So the no guns policy at the event isn’t very surprising.

Much of the political establishment in Washington, D.C. is fine with such a policy in the city. But not everyone is willing to allow the city to restrict Second Amendment Rights. Congressman Thomas Massie has filed legislation to make all out-of-state concealed carry permits valid in the District of Columbia.

Massie filed the bill in response to the June shooting of a GOP Congressional baseball practice, which left Congressman Steve Scalise in critical condition.
