Dave Chapelle Challenges Woke Crowd To Put Their Money Where Their Mouth Is

Dave Chapelle, far from being a stalwart supporter of right-wing politics, has supported many liberal political candidates, most recent of which was entrepreneur and UBI aficionado Andrew Yang. However, Chapelle appears to show quite a bit more consistency in his liberal principles than most others who seem to abide by the woke mainstream in order to advance their careers. In the most recent example, Chapelle called the woke community out on their pious bleating and challenged them to put their money where their mouths are.

According to Breitbart News, longtime comedian Dave Chapelle responded to the woke mob by launching a fundraiser for his alma mater, the Duke Ellington School of Arts. This gesture was in response to outrage from the woke mob regarding the school’s decision to name a theater after him. Apparently, one must comply with any and all the major edicts of the woke mainstream culture in order to avoid their wrath, because apparently, that is how much respect they have for freedom of expression.

“If you object to my receiving this honor, I urge you to donate to the school, noting your objection. If you are in favor of the theater being named ‘Chappelle’, I urge you to donate to the school, noting your approval,” Chappelle said in an Instagram post on Saturday. Indeed, the comedian made crystal clear that he would “gladly step aside” should the opposing side garner more donations for his alma mater than his own efforts did.

“Having the theater named after me is a great honor. Although, that was not my idea, aim or desire. At the request of our beloved school’s founder, Peggy Cooper Kafritz, I accepted,” Chapelle wrote in captions above a few photos of himself at his alma mater.

“In April, I intend to honor that request,” Chapelle continued. “If you object to my receiving this honor, I urge you to donate to the school, noting your objection. If you are in favor of the theater being named ‘Chappelle,’ I urge you to donate to the school, noting your approval.”

He then dropped the gauntlet by saying that “If by April, those against the ‘Chappelle’ theater exceed the donations of those who are neutral or in favor of the theater being named ‘Chappelle,’ I will gladly step aside. If not, I will happily attend the naming ceremony.” giving those who oppose his indiscriminate style of comedic insults a clear timeline with which to walk the talk.

As if to make his point clear as the blue sky, Chapelle utilized not-so-unaccustomed vulgarity, saying “And if you don’t care enough to donate… please, shut the f**k up, forever” making his displeasure towards those who never turn their noble-sounding words on the internet and television into concrete action.

Indeed, Chapelle has been an active alumnus of the school, donating around $100,000 over the years as well as his 2017 Emmy Award. Apparently, several woke students of the school threatened to walk out as a result of Chapelle’s initial attempt at hosting a fundraiser on the 23rd of November last year. Their main gripe with the comedian appeared to be some of the contents of his latest special on Netflix, The Closer, in which he supposedly includes transgender jokes in his routine, seemingly forgetting that Chapelle applies the spirit of the Civil Rights Act into his comedy by offending as many groups as humanly possible.
