Democrat State Senate Candidate To Rake In Cash At NYC Fundraiser in Swanky TriBeCa

A State Senate candidate from North Carolina is set to rake in tens of thousands of dollars at an upscale New York City fundraiser in one of the city’s most ritzy neighborhoods.

“The Host Committee invites you to a fundraising reception in honor of Helen Probst Mills for NC Senate District 25,” said the invitation for the event obtained by Big League Politics.

Mills is running against incumbent State Sen. Tom McInnis (R). Tickets for the event range form “host” level, which is $5000 to “guest” which is $100. According to the flyer, one must pay $250 to be considered a “friend” of the Mills campaign.

The guest of honor will be Borough President of the New York City borough of Manhattan and former New York City councilwoman Gale Brewer.

The invitation also lists Mills’ credentials, for those in New York City who may not know her, given that she’s running for local office south of the Mason/Dixon line.

“Helen is an attorney, mother of three, cancer survivor, community college trustee, and community organizer,” the invitation says. “A native New Yorker, she was raised by a single mother. Helen cares deeply about the future of North Carolina, the state that she and her family proudly call home.”

Nothing says “proud of North Carolina” like sucking up to coastal elitist liberals in TriBeCa and begging them for money. The residents of the swanky neighborhood include Trump-hater Robert De Niro, singers Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, and actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Meg Ryan, Jessica Beil and Jennifer Lawrence.

“Helen wants to change the political priorities in Raleigh to refocus on resources of health care, education, and job training,” the invitation said.

In other words, Mills wants to make North Carolina more like leftist New York.
