Dick’s Sporting Goods Offers $4,000 for Employees to Get Out-of-State Abortions
The corporate sporting goods giant, Dick’s, is offering up to $4,000 to employees to get out-of-state abortions following the repeal of Roe v. Wade.
Dick’s President and CEO Lauren Hobart made the announcement in a social media post on LinkedIn.
“In response to today’s ruling, we are announcing that if a state one of our teammates lives in restricts access to abortion, DICK’S Sporting Goods will provide up to $4,000 in travel expense reimbursement to travel to the nearest location where that care is legally available. This benefit will be provided to any teammate, spouse or dependent enrolled in our medical plan, along with one support person,” Hobart said.
“We recognize people feel passionately about this topic — and that there are teammates and athletes who will not agree with this decision. However, we also recognize that decisions involving health and families are deeply personal and made with thoughtful consideration. We are making this decision so our teammates can access the same health care options, regardless of where they live, and choose what is best for them,” she added.

Amazon is offering as much as $4,000 to its workers to travel out of state to get an abortion as a way to undermine the rule of law. They are anticipating the Supreme Court’s potential decision to invalidate Roe v. Wade, which may come as soon as June.
Additionally, Yelp and Citigroup have offered reimbursements in response to states that have enacted policies restricting abortion. Citigroup even explicitly stated that their policy was enacted “in response to changes in reproductive healthcare laws in certain states.”
These moves by corporate giants show how Big Capital is subsidizing the culture of death, as they understand that strong and healthy families ultimately undermine their hegemony. These soulless conglomerates would rather for their employees to be empty, self-absorbed atomized units than actualized individuals with a higher purpose other than receiving their paychecks and consuming.”
