Did the Pope Just Give the Greenlight to Homosexual Marriage?

On December 18, 2023, Pope Francis gave his approval for priests to  bless “couples in irregular situations and for couples of the same sex,” declaring that when people ask to be blessed, an “exhaustive moral analysis” should not be made

The Vatican’s most recent declaration expanded on the response the pope gave earlier in 2023 to conservative cardinals who had grilled him about the matter. At that time, the pope hinted at being receptive towards blessing homosexual unions but that the Catholic Church should avoid any kind of ritual that would suggest homosexual unions are recognized in the same way as traditional marriages.

This detailed answer that was  published on December 18 stresses that marriage is between a man and a woman, but concedes that the Catholic Church “must shy away from resting its pastoral praxis on the fixed nature of certain doctrinal or disciplinary schemes.”

“Thus, when people ask for a blessing, an exhaustive moral analysis should not be placed as a precondition for conferring it. For, those seeking a blessing should not be required to have prior moral perfection,” the declaration noted.

Back in 2021, the Catholic Church announced that its priests could not bless homosexual unions.

However, things may be changing due to internal subversion that is undermining the Church.

This is the story of countless institutions in the West that have been corrupted by the cultural Left. The Catholic Church’s case should serve as a wake-up call to the Right about the need to defend these institutions from subversion.
