Disney Admits in New SEC Filings That Embracing Woke-ism is Costing Them Profits
It has become so obvious that embracing the leftist agenda of “woke-ism” is hurting Disney’s bottom line that even the stooges in charge cannot deny this fact any longer.
Disney wrote in a recent filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that “we face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products.”
“Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance. Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands,” Disney added in the report.
In other words, Disney went woke and now they’re going broke.
“Disney appears to acknowledge that Smith’s invisible hand is giving the ‘House of Mouse’ the middle finger. In a new corporate disclosure, Disney acknowledges that its controversial political and social agenda is costing the company and shareholders,” legal commentator Jonathan Turley wrote in The Hill.
Big League Politics wrote about the recent “unprecedented box office collapse” for their superhero film “The Marvels,” which featured all-female leads and a black female director:
“New Disney movie “The Marvels” has performed heinously bad at the box office as audiences grow tired of ham-fisted woke premises in their content…
David A. Gross, who leads a movie consulting firm, Franchise Research Entertainment, said that these numbers represent “an unprecedented Marvel box-office collapse.”
“The Marvels” was a historic movie in other aspects besides its failure. It was the first Marvel super hero movie directed by a black woman, Nia DaCosta. Additionally, its three main stars, Bree Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani, are all women as well.
DaCosta, of course, predictably whined about racism and sexism while giving promotional interviews for her turd of a flick…
“There are pockets where you go because you’re like, ‘I’m a super fan. I want to exist in the space of just adoration — which includes civilized critique,” explains DaCosta. “Then there are pockets that are really virulent and violent and racist — and sexist and homophobic and all those awful things. And I choose the side of the light. That’s the part of fandom I’m most attracted to.”‘
Will Disney get the picture and reverse course now? Probably not, as the China-bought corporate elite believes dividing the American public with multicultural propaganda is more important than the profit motive these days.
