Does Justin Amash Have a New Primary Challenger?

Congressman Justin Amash may have a new challenger for his seat in Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District.

Following a series of tweets where Amash declared that President Donald Trump has engaged in “impeachable conduct”, a Republican Member of the Michigan House of Representatives made a cryptic response to Amash’s tweet storm.

James Lower, a Representative of Michigan’s 70th District, stated the following “This cannot go unchallenged! I support @realDonaldTrump, I support West Michigan values, I support our party’s values and I will have a major announcement regarding MI CD3 this week!”

Lower was elected to the Ionia County Board of Commissions in 2010. At the time, he was one of the youngest elected officials in Michigan and the board’s youngest member at 21 years of age.

Despite the Mueller Report exonerating Trump of being a Russian asset, Amash has officially bought into the establishment line of impeaching Trump. This has left many in the liberty fold disappointed, given that the entire Russian collusion hoax was drummed up by Robert Mueller, a major cheerleader for the Iraq War and a seasoned creature of the D.C. swamp.

These are truly bizarre times when an originally anti-establishment representative is parroting lines from a legacy media that has a proven track record of backing defense interests and massive government.

That said, Amash’s establishment virtue signaling has not been taken lightly by his constituents. Shane Trejo of BLP reported that veterans’ rights activist Tom Norton has already filed to challenge Amash. With Lower also in the mix, the incumbent Congressman will have his hands full this primary season.
