Donald Trump Endorses Phil Sorrells in His Campaign for Tarrant County District Attorney

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Judge Phil Sorrells in the race for Tarrant County district attorney on February 16, 2022.
“Phil Sorrells is an experienced prosecutor and exceptional criminal court judge who will support Law Enforcement, fight to put dangerous criminals behind bars, and ensure honest elections,” declared Trump. “He knows public safety is government’s first responsibility, and that is why he has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Tarrant County District Attorney!”
Brandon Waltens of Texas Scorecard observed that Sorrells will be facing off against Judge Mollee Westfall in addition to State Representative Matt Krause.
One interesting thing that Waltens noted that “Sorrells’ campaign consultant is Allen Blakemore, who is also the consultant for Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who has heavily influenced the former president’s endorsements.”
Waltens continued, “At a campaign rally last month in Conroe, Trump said Patrick had gotten ‘a hell of a lot of endorsements’ out of him for his chosen candidates.”
Elections for the primaries will go down on March 1.
Tarrant County, a traditionally Republican county, went 49.3% to 49.1% for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential elections. Democrats are becoming more aggressive in Texas and are looking to capture all urban counties in the state. Trump is at least recognizing the importance of getting involved in district attorney races, which the Left has used to turn America’s once great cities into crime-ridden dumpster fires.
