FAKE NEWS REBUTTED: Australian Gov Volunteered to Help U.S. Government Investigate Mueller Probe
UPDATE: The Australian government released the following letter tonight to demonstrate that the fake news issued deceptive reports about who initiated the request to help the investigation:
Dear Attorney General,
I refer to President Trump’s announcement on 24 May that you will investigate the origins of the Federal Bureau of Investigations probe into Russian links to the 2016 US election.
I note that the President referred to Australia, the United Kingdom and the Ukraine as potential stakeholders. Moreover, I note that he has declassified intelligence material to support your investigation.
The Australian Government will use its best endeavors to support your efforts in this matter. While Australia’s former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, The Hon. Alexander Downer, is no longer employed by the government, we stand ready to provide you with all the relevant information to support your inquiries.
The Acting White House Chief of Staff, The Honorable Michael Mulvaney, has been copied on this letter.
Yours sincerely,
The Hon Joe Hockey
President Donald Trump has enlisted the Prime Minister of Australia to help him investigate the origins of the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation, as the President shows that he’s uniting the world around draining the swamp.
Even fake news sources like CNN and the New York Times were forced to admit that there was nothing illegal or unlawful with this request, as it pertains to a lawful federal investigation being conducted by US Attorney John Durham. Trump conducted the outreach at the behest of Attorney General Bill Barr.
Durham is looking into intelligence that was performed by other countries, and how it was used to justify Mueller’s Russian collusion probe that devolved into an embarrassing and costly fishing expedition. Trump also wants other countries to get into the mix, including Britain, home of former spy Christopher Steele who was instrumental in creating the infamous dossier filled with falsehoods that was used to justify the investigation.
“I hope he looks at the UK. And I hope he looks at Australia. And I hope he looks at Ukraine. I hope he looks at everything,” Trump said in May. “Because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country.”
Trump said to reporters at the time that he may talk to former Prime Minister Theresa May about the importance of British involvement in the matter.
“I may very well talk to her about that, yeah,” he said at the time. “There’s word and rumor that the FBI and others were involved, CIA were involved, with the UK, having to do with the Russian hoax. And I may very well talk to her about that, yes.”
The British said they would be willing to consider complying with the request to reporters, making it clear that there was nothing improper about cooperating.
“We heard what the President said, and if he raises it that’s fine,” an unnamed UK official said to reporters over the summer.
“If we get that request, obviously we’ll consider it. The US is an ally and we want to be helpful. If the attorney general wants to talk to us about this, then I’m sure we’ll want to respond constructively,” they added.
Trump and Barr have recruited one of the most diligent U.S. attorneys in the country in Durham to unearth every detail that went into the witch hunt against the President. Even top Democrats admit Durham is above reproach:
It will be difficult for Democrats to impugn the reputation of Durham, who has an unblemished record of public service going back decades.
Sens. Dick ‘Da Nang’ Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) even wrote a gushing endorsement of Durham after Trump nominated him as a U.S. attorney in 2017.
“John Durham has earned immense respect as a no-nonsense, fierce and fair prosecutor, and we are pleased that the White House has agreed with our recommendation that he serve as United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut,” Blumenthal and Murphy said.
The left-wing, anti-Trump officials talked about Durham’s exemplary record and praised him effusively.
“As an Assistant United States Attorney, John Durham has proven himself time and time again in some of the most challenging and sensitive cases,” they said.
In their press release, Blumenthal and Murphy advertised Durham’s record of qualifications including his work “on the U.S. Department of Justice’s Boston Strike Force on Organized Crime, where he led the high-profile prosecution of former Supervisory FBI Special Agency John J. Connolly and mob bosses James “Whitey” Bulger, and Stephen “the Rifleman” Flemmi.”
In his role uncovering the origins of the Russian collusion investigation, Durham will be scrutinizing many Obama-era Department of Justice officials including former Director James Comey, former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and former Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok.
No wonder Democrats have concocted this impeachment hoax over Trump’s contact with the Ukrainian President. They are terrified of the shoe that is about to drop from Durham’s investigation about the shady Russian collusion probe!
