Elon Musk Champions the Second Amendment When Most Business Magnates Attack It

Tesla and Space X founder Elon Musk manifested his support for the Second Amendment when he defended the concept of a polity having an armed populace.

“As tragic as the mass-shootings are, armed citizens are essential to the defense of democracy,” Musk wrote in an X post as a response to a post that highlighted multiple examples of events in the US in the last three years that may compel a person to buy a firearm.

 

The post Musk responded to was one published by Twitter user End Wokeness on October 14, 2023. End Wokeness posted the following: 

The past 3+ years have been one long infomercial for the 2nd amendment:

  • Months of race riots and looting
  • Police are defunded, crime rages
  • Soros DAs let criminals roam free
  • Millions of illegals storm the border

  • Large support for Hamas in the West
  • BLM calls for decolonizing of America

Say what you want about Musk, he has much more pro-liberty instincts than the majority of entrepreneurs these days who are totally assimilated to the anti-freedom, neoliberal political consensus of contemporary times. 

We are living in troubling times, so it stands to reason that having the right to bear arms at our disposal is of the utmost importance. The government simply cannot be trusted to defend our lives and property in this epoch of mass chaos. An armed lawful individual is still the most effective first responder against potential threats.
