Elon Musk’s Tesla to Move Headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas

Technologist and megabillionaire Elon Musk announced that Tesla, the electric vehicle manufacture of which he serves as CEO, will be moving its headquarters from Silicon Valley in California to Austin, Texas.

Tesla is one of the most valuable auto manufacturers in America, breaking into the Fortune 500 in recent years as popularity of hits vehicles has increased. Musk made the announcement during a Thursday meeting with Tesla shareholders.

Our factory is five minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from downtown, and we’re going to create an ecological paradise, because we’re right on the Colorado River. It’s going to be great,” said Musk of the move. Austin’s Mayor and Texas Governor Greg Abbott also welcomed Tesla’s relocation to Texas.

Musk is known as somewhat of a renegade among America’s reliably ultraliberal billionaire oligarchs, criticizing Joe Biden, coronavirus lockdowns, and far-left fanatical censorship on several occasions. Musk is vocal about climate change, criticizing President Trump for withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Accords.

California’s repressive coronavirus policies had previously motivated Musk to move more of the company’s assets to Texas, opening a factory in Travis County last year. Musk had slammed what he sees as stagnation and mediocrity in Silicon Valley previously, calling California as a state “entitled” and personally moving from the far-left oligarchy to Texas last year. Musk has predicted the influence of Silicon Valley will decline as the technology industry increasingly embraces censorship and anti-American ideologies.

Musk isn’t really a hero, although his willingness to challenge the stale conventional dogma of the Americal billionaire class is occasionally interesting.
