Establishment Republican Mike Cabell Is Using Biden Playbook To Stay in Power

State Representative Mike Cabell is doing everything possible to stay in office despite losing a primary challenge to Jamie Walsh on April 23 by an 3-vote margin (4728-4725) in State House District 117. There’s ongoing litigation that Cabell is using to effectively steal the election from Walsh.
Currently, the court has 60 days to make a decision. Cliff Maloney, the CEO of Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania, noted that the “decision is really about appealing the idea that the [Luzerne] county allow mail-in ballots with no date to be counted. “
Maloney noted that this was a major win for Republicans in the last election cycle because if the ballots were not dated at the time, they weren’t counted. However, a three-judge county court panel determined that the ballots count, which effectively puts America First Republicans like Jamie Walsh in jeopardy this election cycle.
At this point, Maloney argued that Cabell is effectively doing the Democrats’ dirty work by using underhanded tactics to stay in office and harm the electoral prospects of Jamie Walsh.
For perspective, Walsh recently filed a lawsuit to demonstrate that the Board of Elections incorrectly and unlawfully counted mail-in ballots that didn’t have the year on the envelope that they’re supposed to sign.
When reached for comment, Jamie Walsh had this to say: “We should do everything to make our election process cleaner but instead Cabell is attempting to cloud elections in the future. This doesn’t help Trump win in November, in fact it offers the Democrats even more ways to rig another election.”
Cabell has been arguing that the Board of Elections should be counting all of the mail-in ballots that the courts have already deemed to be unlawful. Such a move could set a troubling precedent that would end up harming former President Donald Trump and other candidates such as Dave McCormick, Stacy Garrity, and Dave Sunday during the general election this November.
Cabell is an establishment creature through and through. He has received donations from Pace for State Elections (PSEA) — the Pennsylvania State Education Association’s political action committee —, Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), and the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE). These organizations have backed incumbent President Joe Biden and are working around the clock to prevent former President Donald Trump from winning in the 2024 presidential election.
Cabell was first elected to serve as the representative of Pennsylvania’s 117th district in 2022.
By contrast, Walsh is a staunch pro-liberty conservative who is willing to take on the ruling class.
“Jamie Walsh represents what so many Americans are waking up to. We are tired of the status quo where elected officials go to their respective capital’s to benefit themselves. We need Patriots who will restore the essence of “representative,” stated Ben Herring, President of the Citizens Advisory of Pennsylvania.
Unseating Cabell would send a strong message to the political establishment in Harrisburg that its politics as usual approach will no longer be tolerated.
