Yorktown High School, a public school in Arlington, Virginia, handed out a physics assignment instructing students to pick a famous scientist, engineer, or inventor to focus on for a biographical project. But the assignment came with a catch: Students are not allowed to choose a “white, non-Hispanic male.”
The assignment states: “Your inventor should share at least one marker of identity with you. However, they cannot be a white, non-Hispanic male. Reason: Our textbooks and schooling is filled with famous while male scientists & engineers. It gives the impression that nobody else (female, persons of color) has contributed to science. This Eurocentric view is false…”
Yorktown High School principal Bridget Loft confirmed the existence of the assignment, telling Big League Politics: “This project was assigned by a Physics teacher who wanted his students to research a scientist, engineer or inventor with whom they shared an identity marker, such as race, religion or gender to name just a few examples. All year, students have been learning about scientists such as Isaac Newton who has an entire chapter named after him. The intent of this project was to expand the knowledge of students beyond what is in their text books and to learn about the contributions of other scientists. It was not to in anyway minimize or diminish the work of scientists that they study on a regular basis.”
Here is the original classroom assignment, provided to Big League Politics by a concerned parent.

Greensboro Mayor Changes Her Mind and Admits that Gun Stores are “Essential” After GOA Sent a Legal Warning
Jordan Stein, the Director of Communications for Gun Owners of America (GOA), sent out a news release about Greensboro, North Carolina mayor Nancy Vaughan reversing course on gun store closures.
Previously, Vaughan told the media that gun stores were not “essential” businesses.
After, GOA and Grass Roots North Carolina (GRNC) contacted her, she changed her stance.
GOA and GRNC originally sent a Cease and Desist letter to make her revise her interpretation of what constitutes an essential business, or face legal action. Mayor Vaughan relayed to GOA and GRNC in an email that she was wrong in her original interpretation.
Stein noted that “While GOA and GRNC are thankful for the clarification, both organizations still look forward to seeing a public announcement by Mayor Vaughan to let the citizens of the Gate City know they can lawfully visit and purchase firearms and ammunition from gun stores during the ‘stay-at-home’ order.”
Additionally, Wake County, North Carolina has also let gun stores re-open their doors after a GOA and GRNC sent the county a similar letter
Times of crisis are when the petty tyrants come out of the woodwork.
Leftist-run urban centers across America are taking advantage of this crisis to infringe on the right to bear arms.
Many organizations like Gun Owners of America and a select few elected officials have answered the call by standing up to these attempts to infringe on gun rights.
More cities will likely be reversing course on this matter soon.
